Hinge slightly frayed. RARE ASSOCIATION COPY. This copy has a Latin ownership inscription of John C. Carter (Ronalds' Nephew) on the verso of the front free end paper dated 1889. This book also contains his annotations and revisions for the 10th edition (published 1901) together with Ronalds original water colour drawing for the frontispiece which is inscribed as follows:- "This I have no doubt was Ronalds first sketch, see the plate in 3rd edition, which is I think, the best - I think it better than that in the ninth edition with the Parr" J.C .C ." TOGETHER WITH a copy of the Revised Tenth Edition, 1901, 20 hand coloured plates, original cloth binding. The whole contained in a half red morocco box.
