Small portion missing on inner hinge of advert leaf which also has an early ink mark. However, apart from these faults, a crisp clean copy.

Printed for William Battersby. This edition does not call for the two sculptures of fish as in the more frequently found third edition. The preface is of a different type face and the Table has eight pages (instead of the normal seven) and is of a different composition. This edition also contains a different advertisement being for an advert for Will Brown as the Sign of the Fish in Black Horse Alley. The other third edition has an advert for books. Title page little fragile and a small repair to edge of one text page (not affecting the text). 19th century full diced calf, covers slightly rubbed.
